GP Series: 4-Week Youth Series on Privilege

Privilege more than just a buzzword. Privilege is a perspective. This four‑week youth series in Ephesians 3 helps students recognize the spiritual and social privileges they have and shows them how to use those advantages to serve others. By looking at the apostle Paul’s humility, identity, mission and prayer, teens will learn that privilege is a gift from God to be stewarded, not flaunted or ignored.

Series Overview

• Week 1 – Acknowledging your privilege requires humility – Paul wrote Ephesians from prison and still saw himself as privileged (Ephesians 3:1). Students will explore what privilege is and why the first step is humble gratitude.
• Week 2 – You are a dearly beloved child of God and heir to the throne – The gospel declares that believers are heirs with Christ (Ephesians 3:2‑6). Students will be reminded of their ultimate privilege: being adopted into God’s family.
• Week 3 – Help others experience what you’ve taken for granted – Paul used his privilege to bring outsiders into the church (Ephesians 3:7‑9). Students will be challenged to leverage their gifts and resources so others can flourish.
• Week 4 – Pray for the change you want to be and see – Paul prayed that believers would know the love of Christ and be filled with God’s power (Ephesians 3:12). Students will learn to ask God to transform their hearts and their world.
