Uncornered Series: 4-Week Youth Curriculum on Family Conflict

Feeling stuck or “cornered” by your family situation is a universal experience. Uncornered invites students to bring the gospel into their homes and discover that God’s grace can free them from the cycles of blame, control and bitterness. This four week youth curriculum helps students navigate family conflict with honesty and hope, showing them how to become agents of change through grace, responsibility, surrender and love.

Series Overview

Each week, Uncornered looks at a biblical passage and offers students a practical way to respond when family drama flares up:

  • Week 1 – Grace Is Your Cornerstone in the Corner (Ephesians 5:25 ‑27): When tensions rise at home, students learn that sacrificial love and forgiveness—not anger or avoidance—are the foundation for healthy relationships. Grace is the cornerstone that transforms even the messiest family moments.
  • Week 2 – Make a Log Out of Your Speck (Matthew 7:3 ‑5): Jesus calls us to own our part in conflict before pointing fingers. Students discover the freedom that comes from humbly examining their hearts and taking responsibility rather than blaming everyone else.
  • Week 3 – Control Is Keeping You Cornered (Ezekiel 36:26; 2 Corinthians 5:16 ‑19): Trying to fix or control other people leaves us exhausted and trapped. Students learn to surrender their families to God, trusting Him to change hearts and bring reconciliation while they focus on faithfulness.
  • Week 4 – Reflect Your Father to Your Family (Colossians 3:12 ‑17): Because God has clothed us with compassion, kindness and love, we can extend those same qualities to our families. Students are challenged to respond to others based on God’s grace toward them, becoming peacemakers who reflect their heavenly Father at home.
