Pressed Series: 5‑Week Youth Group Lesson on Peer Pressure

Pressed helps teens navigate the pressure to fit in by anchoring them in who they are in Christ. Over four weeks plus an interactive discipleship event, students learn how to stand firm against external influences, choose wise friends, set healthy boundaries, and live as courageous witnesses for Jesus.

Series Overview

This series compares cultural messages about fitting in with the truth of Scripture. Students see that God calls them to be set apart and courageous, not conforming to the crowd.

What Students Will Learn

• Week 1 – Process (Daniel 3:10-18): Pressure-filled moments often don’t happen in a single moment. It’s a process. And at the core of making better decisions comes the commitment to walk with God in the process of pressure-filled moments.
• Week 2 – Talk to God (Daniel 6:7-24): For one reason or another, we often feel pressed away from talking to God. But even when people or life put the squeeze on us, we can still talk with our Creator.
• Week 3 – Know the Word (Matthew 4:1-11): If you want to live out God’s Word in the loud moments, you need to consume God’s Word in the quiet moments. Because knowing God’s Word aligns you with God’s heart.
• Week 4 – It Isn’t Final (Luke 22:55-60): Sometimes peer pressure is going to get the best of us. But because of Christ’s work on the cross, that failure isn’t final. So don’t let it define you.
• Discipleship Event: Apply the lessons through an interactive experience where students simulate pressure cooker moments and reflect on how they can handle them better in real life.
