At G Shades, our mission is to help youth pastors teach students to see every part of life through the lens of the gospel.

G Shades was founded and is led by Mike Haynes, a current youth pastor and youth ministry veteran. After using several of the most popular curriculum brands to his dissatisfaction, Mike became convinced that there must be a way for youth ministry resources to be:

Out of that tension and many conversations with the Holy Spirit came the gospel lens faith paradigm. Subsequently, G Shades was born.
Since launching in 2018, G Shades has equipped youth ministries of all sizes across the continent with plug-and-play teaching series, small group guides, and parent and volunteer resources that simplify gospel-centered ministry for youth pastors.
There are about a million curriculum organizations out there. If we’re being honest, all of us want to take some of the weight off your shoulders. We all want to help you lead students to Jesus. So what makes G Shades different?

We’re not the only gospel centered youth ministry curriculum. Like some (but not all) of the other curriculum options, we ensure that our teaching series are grounded not just in biblical application, but gospel implication. In fact, every teaching series we produce has a short, memorable, overarching gospel lens statement to help students think broadly about how the gospel intersects with the topic of the series.
We’re not the only youth ministry curriculum that offers video messages. Like some other curriculums (not all), we produce full video messages to go with each week of our curriculum. Maybe that’s helpful to you in diversifying the voices your students hear from. Perhaps it’s useful to you in weekly message prep. It could be that you just sleep better knowing you have a backup plan if you get sick. However you want to use video messages, you’ve got them!
