Youth Group Lessons on Evangelism

Witnesses is a 4-week series on evangelism and living out your faith

For middle and high school students, sharing the gospel  can feel intimidating—how do you equip teens to talk about Jesus in real life? The Witnesses series invites students to step into the shoes of the first Christians and see how their own stories can be a testimony of God’s power. Over four weeks in Acts, your youth will discover that evangelism starts with encountering Jesus and flows naturally from boldness, generosity, and community.

Series Overview

  • Week 1 – Resurrection Changes Everything (Acts 1:8; 2:32): Witnesses tell what they’ve seen. The apostles were eyewitnesses of Jesus’ resurrection, and that reality changed everything. Help students encounter the risen Jesus and let that encounter reshape their lives.
  • Week 2 – Looking Back to Move Forward (Acts 3:4-7, 11-16): The disciples drew on Jesus’ example of healing and power to move forward in faith. Teach students to look back to God’s faithfulness so they can walk forward with purpose.
  • Week 3 – Bold Under Pressure (Acts 4:13-21): Peter and John stood boldly before the religious leaders—not because of their own strength, but because they had experienced the gospel. Challenge students to be bold in the face of pressure, trusting in the Holy Spirit’s power.
  • Week 4 – Caring Community (Acts 4:32-35): The early believers cared for each other with radical generosity and unity. Encourage students to build a community that meets needs and demonstrates God’s love to the world.

By the end of this series, your group will see that evangelism isn’t about memorizing a script—it’s about living as witnesses of the resurrection. They’ll be ready to share their faith with joy and courage.
