Hello My Name Is: 4‑Week Study on Identity

Whether you’ve realized it or not, we all walk around wearing labels that say “Hello, my name is ______.” Those labels are often toxic lies that shape how we see ourselves and treat others. This series invites students to rip off those false labels and replace them with gospel‑inspired truths. Over four weeks they’ll discover that in Christ they are adopted, forgiven, healed, and set free.

Series Overview

Week 1 – You Are a Child of God (John 1:12) – We often feel like spiritual orphans, trying to earn our place. John reminds us that those who believe in Jesus have the right to be called God’s children. Students will learn to live from their identity as sons and daughters instead of striving for it.
Week 2 – You Are Forgiven (1 John 1:9) – Shame can define us and damage our relationships. But God is faithful and just to forgive when we confess. This week challenges students to receive and extend forgiveness, knowing Christ’s sacrifice covers all sin.
Week 3 – You Are Healed (Isaiah 53:5) – Words and wounds from the past can leave lasting scars. Isaiah points to a Messiah who would bear our wounds. Students will explore the healing available in Jesus and become living proof of God’s restorative power.
Week 4 – You Are Free (Romans 6:6‑7) – Sin keeps us captive, but Paul declares that our old self was crucified with Christ. Through His death and resurrection we are no longer slaves to sin. Students will discover freedom to serve and love as Jesus loved.
