Neutral Series: 4-Week Study Through Revelation 3 that Ignites Passionate Faith

Teenagers today often find themselves stuck between wanting to be liked, kind, truthful and faithful—and instead of driving forward, they end up coasting in neutral. Neutral Series invites students to take their foot off the brake and step into a passionate relationship with Jesus. Through Jesus’ letter to the Laodiceans in Revelation 3, students discover that lukewarm faith is not enough and that God invites them into a consuming, transformative friendship with Him.

Series Overview

• Week 1 – Consumed by Jesus (Revelation 3:14–16) – While indecision leaves us stuck, Jesus calls out the Laodicean church for being lukewarm. Students learn that a true believer is not neutral but consumed by Jesus.
• Week 2 – Who You Are Matters (Revelation 3:17–18) – Jesus urges the church to pursue Him first, reminding us that identity matters more than status or success. Students discover that spiritual success takes them farther than any worldly achievement.
• Week 3 – Friend & Father (Revelation 3:19–20) – Some look for a faith that doesn’t confront or challenge, but Jesus’ rebuke comes from love. Students find motivation to leave complacency behind by seeing Jesus as both a loving Father and a faithful Friend.
• Week 4 – Hear the Spirit (Revelation 3:21–22) – Many have never experienced God personally. By learning to listen for the Spirit’s voice, students discover a more passionate, personal faith. They see that the Holy Spirit living inside them sparks passion when they hear Him.
