Once Upon A Time Series: 4-Week Youth Curriculum on Your Story Through a Gospel Lens

We all love a good story, but sometimes we misunderstand our own. Many students believe lies about themselves, feel lost, or carry wounds that color the way they see God and others. This four-week youth curriculum invites students to see their lives through the lens of the gospel. By exploring key stories from Genesis and the Gospels, they’ll learn to trust God’s interpretation of their story and discover hope in every chapter.

Series Overview

  • Week 1 – You Won’t Believe the Lies (Genesis 2:15‑17; 3:4‑7) – Adam and Eve believed a false interpretation of their story, and the consequences were disastrous. Students will see how believing God’s perspective frees them from the lies that hold them back.
  • Week 2 – You’ll Pursue God the Way He Has Pursued You (Genesis 3:8‑10) – When we feel lost, God comes looking for us. Students will discover that because God never gives up on them, they can wholeheartedly pursue Him.
  • Week 3 – You’ll Bring Your Specific Issues to God (John 21:15‑17) – Jesus redeemed Peter by addressing his specific failure. Students will learn that God cares about their particular struggles and invites them to bring everything to Him.
  • Week 4 – You’ll Listen for God’s Voice After Loss (John 20:11‑16) – Grief can obscure our identity, but Jesus calls us by name. Students will see that even after loss, God speaks hope and restores their purpose.
