Redirect Series: 4‑Week Youth Group Lesson on Trusting God’s Plan

Life rarely goes the way we expect. Detours, disappointments and closed doors can leave students wondering if God is still in control. Redirect helps teens discover that God is always writing a bigger story—even when their plans change. This four‑week youth ministry curriculum teaches students to trust God’s character, look for His purpose in every pivot, and surrender their own agendas to His greater plan.

Series Overview

Each session unpacks a biblical example of God redirecting His people for His glory. Through teaching, discussion and prayer, students will learn to embrace divine detours and respond with faith and obedience.

What Students Will Learn

• Week 1 – For His Glory (Romans 11:36-12:2)
  God’s plans are mysterious and often difficult, but they are ultimately for His glory, and that’s a good thing.
• Week 2 – God Can Restore and More (1 Peter 5:8-10)
  When difficult things happen, the enemy uses that to steal, kill, and destroy. But God can restore in us what the enemy takes from us.
• Week 3 – Stop Fixing (Hebrews 9:9-12)
  We don’t need to try to fix our relationship with God with shame-driven religious activity. Jesus’ work on the cross has already fixed what’s broken. Rest in His work.
• Week 4 – Share Your Story
  Help students take the next step coming out of this series by inviting them to share pieces of their story.
