Ring the Bell Series: 4‑Week Youth Group Lesson on Identity & Performance

In a world that measures worth by grades, games and likes, students often feel pressure to perform in order to be accepted. Ring the Bell is a four‑week curriculum that frees teens from performance traps and invites them to find their identity in Christ’s love and grace. Through interactive lessons and a “Ring the Bell” celebration event, students will discover the freedom that comes from living for an audience of One. Does not include Video Messages.

Series Overview

  • Week 1 – God’s Not Impressed (Ephesians 2:8-10)
This sounds harsh, but it’s so important to addressing our performance mentality. God’s not impressed with you. He’s delighted in You. Seeing through that lens will change everything.
  • Week 2 – Stop Running (1 John 1:8-2:1)
When you see that God’s not impressed with you, you’ll stop running from Him when you fall short. He’s delighted in you despite your imperfections because of the work of Jesus.
  • Week 3 – Lean Into Grace (John 8:1-11)
When you see that God’s not impressed with you, you’ll lean into grace when judgment is also a viable option.
  • Week 4 – Value Vulnerability (Genesis 2 & 3)
When you see that God’s not impressed with you, you won’t fear vulnerability because your value in God’s eyes isn’t based on your performance.
