We’ve Got Spirit Series: 4-Week Youth Study for Back to School

For many students, the back-to-school season feels overwhelming. New classes, shifting friend groups, heavy expectations, and hidden insecurities collide to create stress and uncertainty. Teens often put pressure on themselves to perform, to fit in, or to prove their worth — and when they fall short, shame and isolation can creep in.

We’ve Got Spirit is a 4-week youth ministry curriculum that helps students see the start of the school year through the lens of the gospel. By focusing on the presence and work of the Holy Spirit, students are reminded that they are never alone, that weakness can become strength, that prayer is always available, and that they were made to contribute to the common good. This series is a timely way to help teenagers launch into the school year with confidence, hope, and gospel-centered perspective.

Series Overview

This series is built to help students connect the everyday challenges of the school year with the reality of God’s Spirit living within them. In Week 1, they’ll be reminded that Jesus kept His promise to send the Holy Spirit, who is with them in every hallway, classroom, and conversation. In Week 2, they’ll discover that instead of being ashamed of their weaknesses, they can see God’s strength shine through them. In Week 3, they’ll find encouragement that even when words fail, the Spirit intercedes for them in prayer. And in Week 4, they’ll be reminded that they are not meant to do school life in isolation — the Spirit equips them with gifts for the good of others and calls them into biblical community.

By the end of We’ve Got Spirit, students will be better equipped to face the pressures of school not with fear, but with faith — trusting the Spirit to empower them, comfort them, and send them out as a blessing to others.
