Proverbs was written to pass wisdom from one generation to the next—including “knowledge and discretion to the young” (Proverbs 1:4). It speaks directly into the choices students make, the voices they trust, the relationships they build, and the paths they follow.
This eight-week youth Bible study guides students through the book introduction and seven selected chapters of Proverbs. Students will read Scripture together, ask honest questions, apply biblical wisdom to everyday life, and discover that wisdom is ultimately found in Christ, “the wisdom of God” (1 Corinthians 1:24).
Students meet Solomon, identify Proverbs’ intended audience, learn how Hebrew poetry works, distinguish patterns from promises, and establish the gospel lens for the study.
Students explore the fear of the LORD, the pull of belonging, the cost of ignored warnings, and Wisdom’s public invitation.
Students examine trust, understanding, discipline, generosity, and what it looks like to give God the first portion rather than the leftovers.
Students trace two competing paths, see how wisdom passes through generations, and consider how the heart shapes the whole person.
Students study Wisdom’s call, her role in the creation poem, and the New Testament’s identification of Christ as the wisdom of God.
Students compare the voices, tables, and outcomes of Wisdom and Folly while learning how to recognize each invitation in real life.
Students wrestle with their plans, hidden motives, pride, persuasive words, self-control, and God’s authority over every step.
The study concludes with trusted correction, friendship, praise, honest attention, and a final student-written definition of wisdom.
This gospel-centered youth Bible study helps students slow down, read Proverbs in context, and practice wisdom in the choices they make every day. Across eight weeks, students learn to recognize the voices shaping them, take God seriously, and pursue the wisdom ultimately found in Christ.
